Associate Professor at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Doctor of Law, Vasil Gonashvili presented a Guide to Drafting Normative Acts to the employees of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia.
The meeting was opened by the President of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia, Dr. Dr. Lela Janashvili, who spoke about the significance of the publication for those involved in the law-making process and emphasized the practical value the guide holds in the drafting of normative acts.
The guide is based on the practices of European countries and Georgia and examines the legal and technical aspects essential to the preparation of normative acts within the law-making process. These include aspects such as the structure of a legal norm, the principles and standards for its formulation, linguistic construction within the norm, and the rules and standards governing its preparation and drafting.
The book addresses legal and technical issues related to the development and formulation of normative acts, including the format of legislative amendments, specifics of justification, and other related matters. It also reviews the existing legislative framework in Georgia concerning normative acts.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants discussed practical issues related to the topic.
